City as Canvas Family Programs

Bring the whole family to get hands-on with crafts and projects surrounding the City As Canvas exhibition. On July 9, join the creative director of Def Jam Recordings and other guests to learn about the evolution of graffiti ($16, $12 students/seniors). Enjoy free programs throughout the summer as well: Color Me Haring lets kids build their own coloring books using Keith Haring's prints (7/10, 8/2), Collage in Style allows tots to craft layered artwork (7/12, 8/4), CDs for Me introduces CD cover art (7/14, 7/19), and Magnetic Style invites colorful magnet creation (7/21). At Chalk the Walk. tykes will beautify the Fifth Ave sidewalk with graffiti (7/24, 8/16), then Style My Ride lets them loose to decorate a brand new bike helmet (first-come, first-served) with unique designs (7/26). Ages 6 to 12.
