The crocheted hats and handmade dresses at Abigale Ellis’s Boerum Hill children’s shop may look familiar to regular browsers of Brooklyn street fairs. Ellis, who learned to crochet at school in St. Lucia, spent six years selling her original designs at Park Slope’s Seventh Heaven and other bazaars until Obama’s “Yes, we can!” campaign inspired her to open a boutique. Infant bodysuits with sassy declarations, toys and books round out the inventory.
