Time Out says

Forget bagels and lox—did you know Oreos and Tootsie Rolls were invented in NYC? Bring the kids to the Museum of the City of New York to learn about some of the tasty sweets that were invented right here in the Big Apple. Tots can even try whipping up a treat of their own (with the help of an expert). On Halloween (2:30–6pm), drop by for a special holiday edition of A New York Treat; little ones can go on a scavenger hunt for NYC snacks and make a pumpkin craft.
