Annual Sand-Sculpting Contest

Tots, grown-ups, amateurs, seasoned sculptors—everyone gets to play in the sand and build elaborate creations at this annual competition. Last year's extravaganza drew a record 60 entries, including Blue from Blue's Clues. The event (double-billed as Coney Island Unity Day) also features live music and kids' entertainment. Located on the boardwalk between West 10th and West 12th Streets.
