Arbor Week at Wave Hill

Wave Hill will host a series of events to celebrate the trees that line its landscape. Get in on a family art projects throughout the week: Bronx artist Dennis Redmoon Darkeem will help kids create clay masks inspired by Native American and African art (April 23–24, free with admission). During Spring Vacation Week, craft a unique, wooden hiking staff and medallion, decorated with beads, feathers, ribbon and more (April 26 at 1pm, $8) and learn about the lifecycles of trees by hiking and potting a tree seed (April 26 at 2:30pm, $8). Add color and impressions to reclaimed tree-branch slices (April 27, $8) or design a mobile of leafy impressions using clay, paints and wood (April 28, $8). All ages.
