A professional teaching artist leads these musical theater workshops on the Upper West Side. The Mix-It-Up Dance program gets kids moving on Mondays, learning jazz, hip-hop and musical theater dance moves, which they’ll use to choreograph their own combinations (Aug 24–Dec 14, ages 5–13). In the Mini Stage Stars program, kids meet on Saturdays to play theatre games and rehearse, then perform an original show they helped create (Sept 12–Nov 21, ages 5–8). Older kids (ages 9 and up) can apply and audition for Broadway Bound Players, a pay-what-you-can program in which they’ll form a pre-professional theatre troupe and mount a full musical review. Ages 5 to 13.
