Journey to the North

In honor of Martin Luther King Day, The Museum at Eldridge Street hosts a reading of Eloise Greenfield's The Great Migration: Journey to the North, a powerful story about the African American migration from South to North during the last century. A departure from the museum's usual focus on the stories of Jewish immigrants making their way to America, this book portrays another historical example of people saying goodbye and starting over. Following the reading, families will make a mural and explore the synagogue. Reservations are recommended. Ages 7 and up.
