Meet the Mets while doing some good for the less fortunate. The baseball team will host their annual Food Drive, which will benefit The River Fund NY, at the Mets Team Store at Citi Field. Mets mascot Mr. Met and a Mets player will appear at the event from 11am-12pm.
Those who donate at least 10 non-perishable items will receive a voucher for two tickets to select Mets home games in April 2017 (excluding Opening Day). Among the most needed items are powdered, evaporated, and boxed milk; packaged oatmeal, hot and cold cereal, pasta, rice, ramen noodles, and mac and cheese; canned vegetables and fruit; boxed grits; tuna; and powdered mashed potatoes. The River Fund NY is a hunger-relief organization based in Queens. All ages.
