New York City Children's Poetry Festival

Part of the annual New York City Poetry Festival, this youthful fest, sponsored by Writopia, invites pint-sized poets to Governors Island to join in on the free-spirited literary fun. Little ones will pen verses with the help of suggested prompts and sentence starters, surrounded by inspiring settings like a balloon forest and a teepee village. Kids can also act out poems at the free movement area or hear poetry and book readings by renowned authors before taking the stage themselves to perform their own poetry readings. Ages 2 to 18.
