The Pride of the Yankees

Fans of the pinstriped Bronx Bombers can reminisce about baseball icon Lou Gehrig through Samuel Goldwyn’s 1942 film The Pride of the Yankees. Maria Cooper Janis, daughter of the actor who portrayed Gehrig in the film, Gary Cooper, and Richard Sandomir, who published The Pride of the Yankees: Lou Gehrig, Gary Cooper, and the Making of a Classic on the film’s 75th anniversary in 2017, will be on hand for a discussion after the screening and a book signing in the museum store. Ages 8 and up.
