Time Out says

We're willing to bet you know a dozen people who wanted to be marine biologists when they were young and a dozen kids who want to be marine biologists right now. Enter The Oceans Initiative, an organization of scientists in Washington state dedicated to protecting marine life in the Pacific Northwest, and here to make your dreams and your kid's dreams come true. This month, the nonprofit institute started the Virtual Marine Biology Camp, an online course geared for younger learners (and their parents) posted to Facebook and Instagram every Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm EST (11am PST).

“We thought maybe it would be fun for a group of us to be able to hang out online and talk about whales and dolphins and other marine life,” Erin Ashe, executive director and scientist told GeekWire.

Upcoming broadcasts include a conversation with a scientist who’s studying orca poop, a shark expert and a wildlife photographer. Send in your questions ahead of time via social media and they might get answered during the live stream.
