For a change of pace, this month's Center for Architecture Foundation family day is not a workshop but an exploratory tour through sites on Governors Island. Participants will make stops at the maritime spot's forts and Victorian Houses, learning about the island's past and about plans for its future. The tour meets at the Governors Island ferry and finishes up at 1pm. Families can bring a picnic or buy food on the island and are encouraged to stick around afterward to enjoy island offerings like bike rental and mini golf. Preregistration is required. The rain date is July 22. Ages 5 to 13.
