18 Mother's Day meals to delight mom this weekend

In case you haven’t walked passed a stationery store recently, Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday, May 10th. You probably don't have time to whip up a stunning bouquet for mom but you can still show your thanks and love with a meal at one of these NYC restaurants. With everything from pickled herring to housemade pastas on offer, mama's sure to be pleased.

All’onda
Toast mom with half-priced bottles of bubbly all day at Chris Jaeckle's modern East Village trattoria.

Aquavit
The Michelin-starred Nordic staple will offer a $75 three-course prix fixe brunch on Sunday, featuring plates like dry-cured gravlax and potato dumplings with lingonberries. 

The Camlin
This Williamsburg wine is celebrating all things mom with a specialty rosé flight, served alongside their usual brunch and dinner menus. 

The Cecil
Dine on a $55 prix fixe brunch at the uptown Afro-Asian-American brasserie, offering fusion dishes such as Aleppo grilled quail with long beans and candied peanuts. 

Edi & the Wolf
The Michelin-starred chefs behind this Austrian tavern are adding specials like a Royal Croque Madame with cured Arctic char and trout caviar to their regular menu. Plus, they're buying mom's dessert on her special day. 

The Gander
At his New American Flatiron spot, Jesse Schenker will whip up an a la carte Mother's Day brunch spread, with specials like fresh fusilli in ramp pesto and grilled prawn salad with warm fava beans. 

Il Buco Alimentari e Vineria
Say grazie mille to mom with an Italian $45 three-course brunch at this rustic il Buco spinoff, including porchetta and eggs, ricotta with asparagus, and a hazelnut crumble. 

Miss Lily’s
The Caribbean canteen is serving a complimentary Sorrel Mimosa at brunchtime for mom, who will also depart with a bottle of the restaurant's namesake jerk sauce. 

The Palm Court at The Plaza
All weekend, the Geoffrey Zakarian-rebooted icon is hosting afternoon tea and gifting mothers with a certificate for a complimentary manicure at the hotel's spa. Prices starts at $65. 

Rainbow Room
Make reservations at this New York landmark for an expansive brunch buffet, where each mom will be gifted with a box of macarons. Adults are $130 and children are $65.

The Peacock
Venture into Midtown for a $45 brunch menu, which features dishes like a special roast sirloin with Yorkshire pudding, unlimited punch and complimentary mimosas for moms.

Root & Bone
Dine in the spirit of the day with a $65 family-style prix fixe brunch (sweet-corn spoon bread, waffle Benedict, anything-you-want omelettes) at this East Village Southern charmer.

Rosa Mexicano 
Celebrate El Dia de Las Madres with specials like Mexico City-style chilaquiles, which tops a ham steak with scrambled eggs and a chile sauce, at all locations of this Mexican restaurant chain. 

Rotisserie Georgette
Treat your mother to a $65 three-course lunch at this Upper East Side restaurant, and she’ll walk away with her own sample of their new maple-vanilla granola.

Shake Shack
This Mother’s Day, every NYC location of Danny Meyer's burger giant will be treating moms to a free single cup or cone of frozen custard, including the flavor of the week, Red Velvet.

Tavern on the Green
Show mom you can plan ahead by booking reservations at this iconic Central Park restaurant, which has seatings from 9 am until 10:45 pm for its three-course prix fixe brunch ($75) and dinner ($125).

Toqueville
Take mom out for either a $65 lunch or an $85 dinner prix fixe with luxe items like dry-aged sirloin and lavender-skewered Arctic char at this Union Square dining room. 

White Street
Sample the refined American cuisine at this downtown restaurant with a combination of a la carte and $59 prix fixe menus, offering everything from breakfast flatbreads to a flank steak frites.
