We’re so lucky to live in the greatest city in the world, which is also home to some of the most iconic and unique museums. (We’re looking at you, Museum of Ice Cream). While there are several free museum days as well as First Fridays to look forward to in NYC, nothing beats Museum Day Live! hosted by Smithsonian Magazine.

RECOMMENDED: Museums in NYC Package

What’s Museum Day Live!, you ask? In celebration of all the excellently curated exhibits in the country (not to mention the Smithsonian’s free admission policy) hundreds of museums will open their doors, free of charge, on Saturday, September 24, 2016.

Sadly, the aforementioned Museum of Ice Cream is not on this list, but here are the participating and incredible cultural institutions you can visit next month without paying a dime.
