It was a burger-time breather in between hoop battles at The Cage, a chicken-nugget balm to late nights out at the Blue Note or Comedy Cellar and a hot-mess alternative to the long lines at Joe's Pizza.

We're talking, of course, about the McDonald's off West Third Street and Sixth Avenue, an enter-at-your-own-risk emporium of fried food, brazen rodents, vintage firearms and not a single sober soul in sight.

With photos of its shuttered storefront making the social-media rounds, the seminal location has apparently closed, another coronavirus restaurant casualty. And many locals are taking to Twitter to pay their last respects to this fast-food Wild West.

Check out but a few of the heartfelt tales and tributes below—and hey, at least we still have Delancey.
