Top of the Falls Restaurant, perched on Goat Island inside Niagara Falls State Park, just landed a spot on USA Today’s 2025 list of the 10 Best Waterfront Restaurants in the country. Clocking in at No. 5, it’s the only New York spot to make the cut and the only dining venue located inside the state park itself. No other place lets you sip wine and watch 681,000 gallons of water per second plunge over Horseshoe Falls.

The seasonal restaurant (open May through early September) offers scenic views via both indoor seating with floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor deck overlooking Terrapin Point. The setting is pure drama, with mist, roar and rainbows included, but the menu keeps things approachable with burgers, wraps and hearty American fare made with locally sourced ingredients.
Highlights include beef on weck, a loganberry crème brûlée nod to Western New York’s favorite drink and selections flagged for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free diners. Top of the Falls is also the only place in the park that serves alcohol, making it an ideal stop for a cold beer or New York-produced wine after a long day of sightseeing. The restaurant also participates in the state’s Taste NY program, which champions local agriculture and producers in its food and beverage offerings.
