Saks is known for their glittering window displays on Fifth Avenue for the holidays, but this year, you don’t have to wait until then to be dazzled by a magical offering from them. Right now through Sept 10, New Yorkers and visitors alike can stop by Rockefeller Plaza to see (and ride) Saks Carousel, a one-of-a-kind installation inspired by all things New York.
Visitors can find the free, interactive carousel right across from Saks New York flagship store. You can expect seats in the shape of a perfume bottle, a lipstick throne, a sneaker and a glammed-up subway car. The show-stopping carousel arrives in celebration of the beloved store's 95th Anniversary.
You can legitimately ride the carousel too (at no cost either)—this installation is not only for the ‘gram folks. Don’t be surprised if you find the jazzed up merry-go-round with as many adults riding as kids. The carousel will be open everyday until Sept 10 from 10am-8pm.
While you're out and about, seize one of the last weekends of warm summer weather with fun things to do away from your bed like visiting other New York landmarks a wee bit older than Saks or witnessing another over-the-top installation people are freaking out about.
