Our mums are superstars all year round, but this is the one time of the year where you have the perfect excuse to show extra appreciation toward her. Other than treating her to a delicious Mother’s Day meal or planning a Mother’s Day outing with fun bonding activities like jewellery workshops or strolling through a flower display, you can add a sweeter note to the occasion by blessing her with a thoughtful treat. These local bakeries and dessert stores in Singapore are whipping up special Mother’s Day treats, ranging from cute macarons to a warabimochi cake and even pistachio mille crepe inspired by the latest Dubai chocolate trend.

Sweet treats for mum this Mother's Day 2025

  • Cafés
  • Tanjong Pagar

It’s fruit galore at Nesuto this Mother’s Day with two thoughtfully crafted shortcakes: A mixed berries shortcake ($61) topped with a generous heaping of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries; and a unique honey fig shortcake ($53) that’s piled high with fresh fig wedges. We tried the latter and love how the light icing balances out the fruit toppings, which makes for palatable mouthfuls that aren’t overly sweet or sinful  – mum is sure to approve.

Get yours here or at Nesuto’s Tras Street or Jewel Changi outlets.

2. Old Seng Choon

If your mum’s tastes veer more towards the traditional side, she’ll appreciate heritage bakery Old Seng Choon’s blossom pastry set ($18.80) – a trio of flaky Chinese-style bakes shaped like flowers. Every set features one of each of the following flavours: premium bird’s nest with red date, classic yam with red bean, and the delightfully chewy pistachio with mochi – all packed in a red gift box with exquisite floral patterns.

Get yours here or at Old Seng Choon’s Marina Bay Sands, Paragon, and Changi Airport outlets.

Some mothers are sticklers for tradition and the tried-and-tested, but if yours is more adventurous, surprise her with the funky flavours from Le Musée – a macaron specialty store located within newly opened underground mall, Icon Link@ClubStreet. Its pretty seashell-shaped morsels don’t simply look like works of art, they’re also stuffed to the brim with three times the amount of filling than a regular macaron, in unorthodox options like Tokyo Banana and the semi-savoury parma ham with melon. Of course, there are also safer options like crème brûlée, royal earl grey, and pistachio berry. We suggest getting a mix so that you can present mum with a whole rainbow of flavours.

4. Lady M

The viral kunafe pistachio dessert trend has hit Singapore hard, and Lady M’s new limited-time Dubai Chocolate mille crepe ($16 per slice, $198 whole) is here to further fuel that obsession. The New York-born patisserie layers chocolate and pistachio cream in this rendition of their bestselling pastry, finishing it off with a medley of textures with pistachio chunks, crispy kataifi (shredded filo pastry), and tahini (ground sesame).

Place your pre-order for whole cakes here or order from Lady M’s Jewel Changi, Orchard Central, or South Beach outlets.

5. Luna Patisserie x Warabimochi Kamakura

In an unlikely but promising collaboration, pastry cafe Lucine by Luna teams up with warabimochi beverage specialty brand Warabimochi Kamakura to create an exclusive cake that pays homage to Japanese flavours: the goma kinako warabimochi cake ($9.80). This petite treat is made of black sesame sponge cake layered with rich goma chantilly cream, roasted sesame seeds, and topped with the softest warabimochi. For a luxe finishing touch, the entire ensemble is dusted with edible gold flakes – perfect for the queen your mum is.

While you’re at it, pick up the kinako Hokkaido milk warabimochi drink ($8.90), another collab item that’ll only be available till June 15, 2025.

The drink is only available at Warabimochi Kamakura, while the cake can be purchased from both Warabimochi Kamakura and Lucine by Luna.
