National Day is always a good excuse to feast, and this year, restaurants in Singapore are getting into the celebratory spirit with plenty of SG61-inspired dining promotions. In honour of Singapore's 61st birthday, here are six specially selected, value-for-money $61 deals to make full use of throughout July and August. These restaurants offer everything from buffet spreads with heritage delights to leisurely afternoon teas, Mediterranean brunches, sizzling yakiniku, punchy Thai flavours and more. Round up the family, rally your friends and enjoy these SG61 deals while they last.

Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie is going all out this National Day with its SG61 Taste of Singapore Heritage Brunch Buffet, available from noon to 3pm from August 8 to 10. At $61 per adult, expect a sprawling spread that pays tribute to Singapore hawker classics, Peranakan heritage and even a 'Mod-Sin' roast carving station. Highlights include the barbecue station with banana leaf-wrapped sambal stingray, soup station with bak kut teh, mussels with chilli crab sauce and Nyonya assam tiger prawns. At the carving station, dig into vanilla-scented crispy siu yok, 72-hour dry-aged roasted duck with angelica herbs and chicken rice balls, as well as Duroc black truffle pork belly char siew. Save space for dessert as well – there's a delightful selection of durian pengat, Nyonya kueh and more local treats. Bonus points if you're born in August: you'll get to dine for free with every three paying adults.

2. Fat Prince

Forget about agonising over what to order at the lunch table. At Fat Prince, you'll just have to sit down and let the kitchen do the work for you. For two days only, on August 8 and 9 from noon to 3pm, the Mediterranean restaurant is running a National Day Brunch aptly titled 'Majulah, Habibi!', priced at $61 per person. The chefs decide what's served, from a generous spread of mezze and dips to share, to charcoal-grilled kebabs and succulent meats, all the way to desserts. For those familiar with Fat Prince, it's essentially the joint's signature 'Feed Me' experience transformed into a leisurely brunch format just for the occasion. There's also the option to add two hours of free-flow house red and white wines, beet, Mimosas and Aperol Spritz for an additional $48 per person.

Here's one for the carnivores. Bedrock Bar & Grill will be offering its usual weekday steak frites luncheon on Sunday, August 9, between noon to 3pm, specially for National Day. What's more, it will be priced at $61 instead of the usual $68. The set comes with your choice of 120-day corn-fed ribeye or 100-day grain-fed striploin, paired with free-flow truffle parmesan fries and a salad – an easy pick for lunch before heading out for the evening festivities and fireworks. If you're dining with the family, consider the Tomahawk Celebratory Set ($288), available throughout August. The feast includes a 1.5 kg applewood-fired tomahawk steak, customisable with a choice of two sides and two desserts to share among three to four people.

4. L’Espresso

L'Espresso, housed in Goodwood Park Hotel, has been a go-to afternoon tea spot for decades, and this year, it's introducing The Local Palate Afternoon Tea Buffet just in time for SG61, running from July 1 to September 30. Specially for the month of August, diners will also get to enjoy the Local Fusion Theme English Afternoon Tea Buffet for $61 per person, down from the usual $65. Make an event out of it and come dressed in red and white on the National Day weekend – you'll be on theme with the restaurant's decor. Expect a line-up of heritage favourites with a modern spin. Crispy soft-shell crab sliders and Hainanese chicken arancini with scallion sour cream are not to be missed, and neither are the pandan cream caramel desserts. Or, you can graze on a selection of sandwiches, or indulge in hot delights like beef rendang, which are sure to fill you up.

5. Sarai Fine Thai

For something different this National Day, head to Sarai Fine Thai at Tanglin Mall for well-executed Thai classics in a proper restaurant setting as opposed to your usual go-to neighbourhood Thai eatery. The restaurant is offering a value-for-money three-course set menu for two at just $61, available daily for lunch and dinner from August 1 to 15. The meal begins with juicy Thai grilled pork skewers (moo ping), before moving on to a comforting clear tom yum soup with tofu and mushrooms. For mains, diners can choose between fragrant wok-fried beef with basil or a rich Southern Thai dry green curry with braised beef, before ending things on a decadent note with baked durian custard.

6. Tajimaya Yakiniku

This yakiniku specialist at Great World City is offering not one but two SG61 deals this National Day. From July 1 to August 15, Tajimaya Yakiniku's SG61 Prestige Miyazaki Set is yours at $61, featuring A5 Miyazaki striploin, Australian wagyu short ribs, bottomless miso soup, garlic rice, wafu salad, an appetiser and even dessert to seal the deal. But if unlimited grilled meats are more your speed, swing by from August 3 to 6 for the dinner buffet instead, priced at $61 per person instead of the usual $69.90. Eat your fill of premium wagyu, Kurobuta pork belly and teriyaki chicken thigh. There'll also be seafood and sashimi available, as well as garlic shoyu fried rice and truffle tonkotsu ramen at the buffet counter, so wear your stretchiest pants and be prepared to feast.
