According to the travel website Big 7, our city has topped the list of Instagrammable cities around the world, beating Nepal, Dubrovnik in Croatia, and even the iconic city of lights, Paris itself. The site used a scoring system that includes an overall look at the number of hashtags per destination, the team's expertise and social media survey results. Looks like we passed the vibe check for the strict criteria and came up tops!

As expected, the list includes plenty of beachy destinations, mountain views, picturesque and cobbled streets – but what they all have in common is a vibrant personality. We take it that Singapore brought in the scores for its mix of futuristic and heritage architecture, sprawling city parks and the hustle and bustle of the city centre that coexists with hidden pockets of green peppered all across the island.

Interestingly enough, this month we're also celebrating the hidden gems and secret spots around Singapore that people should be exploring. Whether it is quarries (with magical water nonetheless) or faraway restaurants that we wouldn't mind travelling to ourselves, Singapore is indeed full of Instagrammable spots we can be proud of – you just have to find it. Where is your favourite spot for photos?
