The study weighed up everything from getting around and staying safe, to healthcare, cultural hotspots, and how comfy your stay would be

Don’t let age stop you from living your best life, and that definitely includes seeing the world. Where, you may ask? Well, here's a solid contender: Singapore. According to a new study by AllClear Travel Insurance, our city ranks 27th globally for senior-friendly travel, with culture, comfort, and accessibility happily coexisting.
The research looked at 175 destinations worldwide, weighing eight indicators: mobility, safety, healthcare access, cultural accessibility, environmental comfort and accommodation suitability.
In Singapore, around 27% of hotels are accessible, which means getting around won’t feel like an obstacle course. Culture lovers are well served too: 173 museums and 31 theatres give you plenty of reasons to leave the hotel slippers behind. Art spaces dedicated to seniors are even popping up in the Lion City.
Valencia takes the top spot as the best city in the world for senior travellers. The Netherlands dominates the top 10, with three cities in the top five – Amsterdam, The Hague, and Rotterdam – while European destinations account for more than half of the top 20. Across the Atlantic, US cities also did well, including Orlando, Washington, Sacramento, Boston, and Tampa.
