We already know Singapore’s Offtrack made the extended 51-100 list of The 50 Best Bars. Now, the big one has landed: the top 50 has been revealed, and Singapore’s cocktail scene has once again made the global cut.

Two local favourites have secured spots this year, with Jigger & Pony coming in at 18th place and Nutmeg & Clove in 38th place. While Jigger & Pony has slipped from last year’s 9th position, Nutmeg & Clove has gone the other way, climbing 12 spots from 50th.

For starters, Jigger & Pony needs little introduction, having reached fifth place on The 50 Best Bars (rebranded from The World's 50 Best Bars) just two years ago. Now tucked inside Amara Singapore, the bar was given a major overhaul while retaining its signature drinks. Its cocktail menuzines are a big part of the appeal, often presented more like glossy lifestyle magazines than conventional drinks lists, with illustrations, stories and plenty of personality alongside cocktails that put an Asian spin on classics. Its Singapore Sling, for instance, gets a smoky, tangy twist from lapsang souchong tea and rhubarb, while other pages run through martinis and reworked classics.

Over on Purvis Street, Nutmeg & Clove is having a rather good year. The bar climbed from 50th to 38th spot globally, building on its reputation for cocktails rooted in Singapore’s history, culture and flavours. Its drinks often take familiar local ingredients and stories and give them a distinctly modern spin. Recently, Nutmeg & Clove launched Singapura, Oh Singapura, a comic-book-style cocktail menu inspired by iconic Singlish expressions, with 12 new drinks including Alamak, Jialat and Die Die Must Try. The bar’s take on the Singapore Sling, Alamak combines Roku gin with soursop, passionfruit, pineapple and pomegranate, while other creations give classics a local makeover – think a Manhattan topped with canned peaches and an espresso martini made with TWG coffee and then sprinkled with edible gold.

Singapore is one of two Asian cities with two bars on this year’s global list, alongside Tokyo, whose Bar Benfiddich and Virtù landed in 44th and 48th place respectively. Bangkok has three bars on the list while Seoul has one – Zest in 7th place.

Hong Kong takes the top honours with four entries in the 1-50 list – and its Bar Leone in the very top spot for a second consecutive year, becoming the first Asian bar to hold the title twice. The Roman-inspired drinking den in Central is built around Cocktail Popolari, or “cocktails for the people”. They keep it neat with expertly made classics and a distinct neighbourhood-bar vibe.

Here are the top 20 bars in the world, according to The 50 Best Bars 2026:

  1. Bar Leone (Hong Kong, China)
  2. Moebius Milano (Milan, Italy)
  3. Alquímico (Cartagena, Colombia)

Sponsored by Perrier, The 50 Best Bars is an annual ranking of the world’s leading drinking venues, based on votes from an anonymous Academy of more than 800 drinks experts across 29 regions, including bartenders, consultants, drinks writers and cocktail specialists. Each voter casts eight votes based on their best bar experiences over the past 18 months.

Published since 2009, the ranking has become a major fixture in the global bar industry, with regional lists now including Asia, launched in 2016, North America in 2022 and Europe in 2026. The awards, voting system and lists are independently organised by William Reed, which owns The 50.
