Time Out says

Jacob Nash is creating a large-scale outdoor sculpture for Sydney Festival, making a clear declaration about this land

The phrase “always was, always will be Aboriginal land” has long been an important slogan for the Aboriginal land rights and sovereignty movement. Bangarra Dance Theatre’s designer-in-residence Jacob Nash is creating an artwork that refers to that slogan for Sydney Festival. He’ll install a series of 7-metre tall letters across Barangaroo reserve, spelling out the word “always”. The word will stretch across 22 metres and peer out over the headlands.
