Calling all well-dressed whisky connoisseurs, or those aspiring to be one: underground Sydney cocktail bar Employees Only has got just the line-up for you.
In conjunction with the world-class whisky crafters at Laphroaig, the CBD bar is puting on a whisky masterclass, followed by a specifically curated whisky-paired dinner and – wait for it – tailored suiting sessions with the bespoke creators at Mister Mister.
The Laphroaig – pronounced la-froyg, in case you (like us!) were wondering – whiskies of the evening will be presented by their resident whisky expert Cameron Pirret, who gleaned his knowledge in the peat fields of Laphroig’s distillery in Islay, Scotland, and who'll share stories about the legendary drink's history and complexities. Four Laphroaig varieties will be presented on the evening: the Laphroaig 10, Laphroaig Quarter, Laphroaig Triple Wood and Laphroaig Lore.
A fine drink deserves a fine menu to accompany it, and Employees Only's head chef, Tom Stott, has got you covered. A seared yellowfin tuna with caviar will kick things off, and will be followed by Employees Only's signature 24-carat gold striploin served with truffle mash. A rich Belgian chocolate tart will povide a sweet finish – and every dish, naturally, is served with a paired whiskey. Plus, you'll be able to get yourself measured and fitted over the course of the evening for a bespoke jacket with the tailors of suit label Mister Mister.
A Whiskey Affair takes place from 5pm, Wednesday August 5 and tickets are $120 per person. Book yours here.
