We all know perfectly well that Opera Bar on the Lower Concourse Level of the Sydney Opera House is a bar with one of the best views in the world.

What can match kicking back with a cocktail with the arch of the Harbour Bridge in one direction and the curve of the Opera House in the other? And with spring approaching, those panoramic views will soon be amped up by ravishing sunsets.

The only snag, of course, is guaranteeing space at this hugely popular drinking spot.

Until now, that is.

Throughout August and September, Opera Bar is breaking all the rules and introducing Monday to Friday bookings for groups of ten or more. And there’s no booking fee or minimum spend. As long as you arrive between 4pm and 6pm, your group is sitting pretty.

And with live music kicking off every night from 7pm and a full menu of mains, snacks, pizza, seafood, cheese and charcuterie available, that pretty much makes it the best after-work drinks ever.

You may even be tempted to take happy snaps and selfies while you’re at it. Be sure to hashtag your shots #bestworkdrinksintheworld and tag @operabarsydney and you’ll be in the running to win a $1,000 private function at Opera Bar with drinks and canapés.

So how do you make your booking? Send an email to mail@operabar.com.au with the subject header #bestworkdrinksintheworld, and let them know your company name, contact name, contact telephone, the date you’d like a table, time of arrival, number of people (ten or greater) and whether or not you need to open a bar tab. They’ll let you know if your booking is successful.

Further details are available at the Opera Bar website.
