Last drinks for two Sydney bars this weekend

If you've been out in Sydney over the last few years then you've probably vanished an El Diablo and a lobster burger at Hello Sailor, not to mention scarfing down Mexican snacks and Margaritas at Barrio Chino. Both these late night haunts have been reliable spots for good times after dark and the news that they're both calling last drinks on the exact same day is a devastating blow to our embattled nightlife.

But just because both Hello Sailor and Barrio Chino are closing this weekend, that doesn't mean they have to go out with a whimper. With both venues throwing farewell drinks this Sunday, it's time to don your Sunday best and party like it's 2012.

Head down to the nautically-themed cocktail bar on Oxford Street for a night of yacht club tunes, pinatas, tropical cocktails and salty snacks, but doors open at 6pm so get in early or prepare to just wave the old girl off from the footpath.

Not far away the farewell shenanigans for Barrio Chino will be kicking off at 5pm and will include a whole lot of tunes, with Kallidad playing Mexican tunes from 6-8pm, followed by Jonny Pow and Sam Francisco. Plus there'll be tacos and a valiant attempt to drink the slushie machine dry.

Having trouble choosing which party to hit up? Why not do both.
