Simple Pleasures Camping Co – the most luxe way to sleep under canvas – recently pitched up their glamorous tents on Sydney Harbour’s North Head for seven weeks. Now they’re back with a Valentine’s weekend package that’ll make you swoon/vomit into a bag.
OK, it’s pretty slick. Couples get access to one of ten tents surrounded by 100 acres of natural bushland at Wallis Lake in Forster – around a three-hour drive north of Sydney. Each tent includes a real queen size bed, outdoor furniture, gas cooker and bottle of Laurent-Perrier Champagne on ice – so you get to know each other a little better.
Imagine watching the sunset over the water with a campfire to keep you warm. Hello, marriage proposals!

They’ll also provide a chartered boat ride from the campsite to Hamiltons Oyster Bar & Restaurant, who harvest oysters fresh from their farm on Wallis Lake. So long as you fork out for lunch or dinner they’ll throw in complimentary oysters.
So, how much? It’s $550 for two nights, on Friday February 17 and Saturday February 18, or $250 per night.
