UK rockers the Stone Roses will be playing one of their most intimate shows yet (by stadium rock standards). The Manchester outfit will be taking to the Opera House this December. The Concert Hall's world class acoustics will be the perfect host for the group, who've given us eighties anthems like 'I Wanna Be Adored' and 'She Bangs the Drum'. Not ones to rest on their laurels, they've been making new music, and were the subjects of the 2013 documentary Made of Stone, which followed the band's 2011 reformation.

The appearance is their first in Australia since their surprise performances at Future Music Festival back in 2013. Then, the band were met with a Twitter tirade from the eternally outspoken Azealia Banks, along with question marks from some very puzzled young punters. This time we hope they aren't attacked by divas, and we reckon the Opera House will be a much better setting for the legendary group – and their biggest fans.
