Melbourne's fab weekly queer party has set-up shop in The Imperial Hotel
If you've been to the newly refurbished Imperial you'll know they've opened the basement level of the historic pub to host fab dance parties. It's got all the filmic dancefloor trimmings you need, nightclub lighting, throbbing sound system, dramatic mezzanine levels, and a mini stage for intermittent drag shows. Honcho Disko is an inclusive queer party with fun, subversive performances and a joy-inducing roster of DJs that has expanded from being a weekly party in Melbourne to popping-up monthly in Sydney at the aforementioned basement paradise.
The July edition of Honcho Disko will include shows from Ms Burley Chassis, Felicia Foxx, Sheba Williams, Canoe, and Lesbina Moon Monster. The Impy basement space will be decked out with installations from Mungo and you'll be sashaying all over the floor to tunes provided by DJs Estee Louder and Cupids Cut. Nab tickets before they disappear, this masterclass in underground disco partying is open until a subterranean-appropriate 4am.
