Freelancers, start-up businesses and students can now take advantage of a new, high-tech workspace in the heart of the city. The Third Space is an open-plan mobile working hub inside Broadway – so open that you can peer over the partially-enclosed walls into the retail area of the mall – offering quiet work stations, casual discussion areas, private booths for taking calls and bookable meeting rooms, all for free.

Set up on level three of Broadway, the 100 square-metre space also gives users access to free parking, charging stations for various devices, whiteboards, stationery, bottled water and even a concierge service to organise life admin like dry cleaning and grocery deliveries.

If you’re snowed under with work, you can skip the three-minute stroll to the food court downstairs and order-in. Or if you need a break, step outside the space and start that retail therapy immediately.

The Third Space is open Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5.30pm until September. You’ll need to book a desk before you rock up, but there’s flexible and ongoing arrangements available.

For a post-work beers and brain teasers head to the best pub trivia nights in Sydney.
