Acclaimed rock artist David Byrne is coming to Australia off the back of his latest studio album American Utopia. The record marks Byrne’s first solo album after a 14-year hiatus and is released in March as part of his larger multimedia project Reasons to Be Cheerful.

The Australian leg of the world tour will see hit tracks from Byrne’s newest album, including Everybody’s Coming to My House and Every Day Is A Miracle; works from his art-pop collaboration with St Vincent (who is in Sydney for Vivid this weekend); and Talking Heads classics like This Must Be The Place and Burning Down the House.

The American Utopia show will hit Sydney’s ICC Theatre on November 20, before leaving to Gold Coast, Melbourne and Adelaide. Byrne will take to the stage with a 12-piece band in what the ex-Talking Heads frontman has described as “the most ambitious show [he has] done since the shows that were filmed for Stop Making Sense”.

Tickets for David Byrne are on sale on Monday June 18. See full ticketing details at Frontier Touring.
