Your three-day weekend awaits – as does that heatwave – so what better way to spend it than cooling off in the cinema catching up on potential Oscar winning films?

This weekend, Palace Central Cinema is offering $10 tickets for all sessions, except for its Platinum screenings, including Golden Globe winning The Favourite, Vice, Bohemian Rhapsody, and triple GG winning Green Book. There’s also potential Oscar contender for best foreign language film Cold War, the family favourite Mary Poppins Returns, and Margot Robbie’s transformation into Elizabeth I for Mary, Queen of Scots.

In an earlier version of this news story we incorrectly stated that Platinum sessions are also $10. Sadly that's not the case. However, the cinema's regular seating is just as comfy.

As it’s Australia Day this weekend, they’re also serving up special lamington choc tops... And if you’re looking for a school holidays saviour, there’s the contemporary retelling of Colin Thiele’s classic ‘Storm Boy’ screening this weekend too.

The $10 ticket offer, plus lamington choc tops and a special upgrade to their ‘feature length’ wine pours, is only available this weekend, from Jan 26-28. Book your tickets online from the Palace Cinemas website.

Find heaps more ways to spend your long weekend.
