However, in new data released by Domain, owning a home by the seaside might be in reach – as long as you’re willing to head regional.
When crunching the numbers, property experts have been able to compile a list of the most attractive coastal suburbs that all come in below the $1.5 million mark.
If you’re budget is roughly $1.5 million (and you’ve been priced out of Sydney’s $1.75 million median house price – welp) and by the sea is the place for you, check out the top ten regional coastal suburbs across NSW:
There are some absolute pearlers in there, including the ever-popular holiday destination for Sydneysiders: Mollymook, which offers all the charm of a coastal town with all the convenience of only being a three-hour drive south from the city.
If you fancy joining the growing Gold Coast sect, Tweed Heads straddles the Queensland border and is a growing hub of cafés, restaurants and gorgeous beaches.
You can nab a home in the beautiful Kiama for around $1.3 million, and property in Pottsville – a gem of the Northern Rivers – will set you back roughly $1.4 million.
