Always looking for Sydney’s best happy hour specials? Then here's a verrry happy deal – The Commons Café & Bar at Martin Place offers up cocktails for $10, Martinis for $11, and glasses of wine and beer for $8, plus free fries. And you don’t need to be a member to pull up a seat and order a drink.

The Commons’ Aperitif Hour takes place every Thursday and Friday from 4-6pm – a great excuse to duck out of the office a little early.

If you order from the Signature or Classic Cocktail menus, you'll score a complimentary serving of fries with any of these drinks, available from 4pm until close. Better yet, you can customise your fries with different seasonings and sauces. (Seasoning options include salt and vinegar, chilli lime, chicken and tarragon, and toasted nori and sesame; when it comes to sauce, there’s pineapple barbecue, truffle aioli, chilli aioli, caper and tarragon tartare, and black garlic aioli.)

There’s also a new bar menu made for sharing, with dishes designed to pair perfectly with drinks. Available throughout Aperitif Hour and beyond, it means you can easily turn a quick after-work catch-up into a longer dinner.

Aperitif Hour is perfectly timed for that sweet spot between wrapping up work and deciding how to spend your evening. Add a cocktail, a bowl of fries and a few plates for the table, and suddenly there's not much reason to rush off.
