Like Beyoncé dropping a surprise album, Portuguese chicken OGs Frangos has made a last-minute announcement about the opening of a new store in Concord on Thursday, October 28. The Concord diner will be the seventh addition to the brood, and will feature a generous alfresco area, which is great considering we've been eating charcoal chicken with our bare hands on our couches or in our cars for the last few months.

Owner Luis Fernandes says opening the Concord store is particularly poignant as he grew up in the Inner West and is passionate about the local area and the people: “To bring the flavours of our Portuguese charcoal chicken and family recipe chilli sauce back to the Inner West is something that is important to me and my family."

The Fernandes family opened their first store in Petersham the heart of Sydney’s Portuguese community in 1989. Fernandes has since opened stores across greater western Sydney in Bella Vista, Penrith, Smithfield, Gregory Hills and a drive-through in Edmondson Park which pioneered Australia’s first charcoal chicken drive-through concept.
