Time Out says

At 1989 Arcade Bar, let the sparks fly over the romantic soundtrack of 8-bit arcade games

We all know Valentine's Day events can be a little contrived, which is why we love 1989 Arcade Bar's approach to the holiday: a cheap, unpretentious night out where you're guaranteed to have a good time. Usually the bar's classic arcade games are $1 a pop. But on February 14 it'll cost you nothing to verse your date, challenge a cute stranger, or forget the whole corny thing and just have fun with your friends.

Show off your Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat skills, or flex at the boardgame table (is there anything sexier than a strategically placed Carcasonne tile? We think not). When things start getting hot and heavy around the pinball machine, cool down with a craft beer, or up the competitive stakes and make the loser buy the next round. On this Valentine's Day, it's 1989 for the win.
