It's a warehouse party meets wine festival, and it's coming to kick off your silly season in serious style. Wine de Jour – a newly launched venture from Cakes Wines' Glen Cassidy and sommelier Samantha Payne – will focus on rosé and orange wines. The sunset hued vinos are often a little misunderstood (but also the most interesting) so the festival is here to educate and celebrate skin contact wine, with some of the country's best up-and-coming winemakers.
A converted warehouse space in Redfern (adjacent to Cake Wines) will host around 30 winemakers including Alpha Box and Dice and Vinteloper. The legends from nearby snack and wine bar Bart Jr will be serving up treats (which isn't included in your ticket price) to go with all the wine tasting you're going to do.
