Embark on a stargazing tour among the vines, surrounded by spectacular sandstone escarpments

If you’re partial to admiring the night sky, drinking wine, and being surrounded by beautiful natural vistas, read on. This tour from Blue Mountains Stargazing takes you amongst the vines of Dryridge Estate, a vineyard nestled amongst the serene sights and sandstone escarpments of the Megalong Valley. It’s about two hours from Sydney and 20 minutes out of Blackheath.

Over 75 minutes you’ll witness the bright colours of the sunset over the Great Dividing Range with a vino in hand, and an astrophysicist will lead an exploration of the southern sky, including the planets, galaxies, stars and constellations through the telescope. The expert will also provide tips and tricks for naked eye astronomy and answer questions by the firepit.

If all that gazing up at the night sky works up an appetite, don’t fret. The experience includes a Ploughman’s lunch (or in this case, dinner) with fresh locally made bread, cheeses, and accompaniments like pickles, olives and sundried tomatoes. You can wash that down with several ‘substantial’ tastings of current vintage wines served by the winery’s knowledgeable staff.

The next tours are on Wednesday April 28 and Thursday April 29, from 5.30-6.45pm. Tickets are $135 and you can grab them here
