The 100 best shops in London

Discover London's best shops selected by Time Out's panel of experts

If one thing sets London apart from other world cities it’s the shops. For their sheer variety, astonishing quality and occasional quirkiness, from local stores to giant emporia, nowhere does selling stuff like London does. That’s why we take the business of finding the best shops in London very seriously at Time Out.

Using suggestions from a panel of experts, Time Out’s Shopping team put together the top 100, battling out where each shop should rank, who should get into our top ten, and who was destined to be voted off. We looked at store concept, stock, customer service, and each shop’s uniqueness – including the eclectic and eccentric as much as obvious London retail landmarks.

Explore Time Out’s list to discover London’s best shops – from Brit classics with genuine heritage to slick concept stores, indie oddities, and the biggest and brashest high-street stalwarts. We think we’ve put together the perfect list – but feel free to disagree (or suggest a shop that you love) in the comments box below, or on Facebook or Twitter using #100bestshops.

When we put together our countdown of London’s 100 best shops we packed it full of slick concept stores, beloved icons and hidden vintage gems. Then we got in front of the camera to explore four shops on the list that we think represent the luxury, diversity and loopiness of shopping in the capital: Liberty, Harrods, Coco de Mer and LN-CC. From the jaw-dropping decadence of London's glitziest department store to the artful interior of a secret Dalston boutique, watch our video and start planning your next shopping trip!
