Make sure you’re in the city this August for London Craft Beer Festival’s fifth birthday bash, a wonderful summer mash-up of the world's best booze and food, plus an epic line-up on the decks. With DJ sets from Foals, Hot Chip and Metronomy already confirmed we can tell this one's going to be a corker.

From August 4-6, Shoreditch’s Electric Light Station will be buzzing with two rooms full of mouthwatering dishes, a couple of shuffle boards, as well as talks from professional brewers. But let’s cut to the food. Founders Dan Sylvester and Greg Wells obviously have a lot of friends in high places when it comes to London’s restaurant scene. Middle eastern eaterie Berber & Q, the family-run Gunpowder, and pizza experts Radio Alice, will all be serving up their twists on pizza. Meat-connoisseurs L’onglet and Big Apple Hot Dogs will also be behind the grill.

And the booze? Craft beer lovers will be spoilt for choice with 45 of the world’s best breweries, from the London-based Kernal and Brew By Numbers to brewers as far away as Brazil, Brooklyn, San Diego and Copenhagen (but there is a wine and cheese pairing at the ‘barrel and wheel bar’ for any friends/partners you’ve dragged along with an aversion to beer). Though we’re sure they won’t need much persuading with that line-up.

London Craft Beer Festival is at Shoreditch Electric Light Station, Hoxton Square, Shoreditch, N1 6HD from August 4-6.

Can't wait until August? Here are London's best craft beer bars.
