London Tube and Train Disruption This Weekend: Full List of Closures for August 22-23 2026

The Circle, District, Metropolitan, Piccadilly and Hammersmith & City lines will all be hit by closures. Here’s how to get around the city

Heads up, Londoners – there’s set to be significant transport disruption on the city’s tubes and trains this weekend. The Circle, District, Metropolitan, Piccadilly and Hammersmith & City lines will all be hit by major closures on August 22-23.

But that’s no reason to stay at home. All Points East returns for 2026, there’s free outdoor theatre at Greenwich Fair and the Barbican is hosting open-air movie screenings. You can find a round-up of free activities in the city this weekend here.

London travel disruption and tube closures, August 22-23 2026

District line

  • Saturday August 22:
    • No trains on the entire line until 10.30am.
    • From 10.30am to 2pm, no service between Edgware Road / Embankment and Ealing Broadway / Kensington (Olympia) / Richmond / Wimbledon.
    • From 2pm, no service eastbound from Stamford Brook to Barons Court.
    • From 2pm, no service westbound from Earl’s Court and Stamford Brook.
    • From 2pm, no service between Earl’s Court and Kensington (Olympia)
    • From 2pm, no service between Fulham Broadway and Wimbledon
  • Sunday August 23:
    • All day, no service eastbound from Stamford Brook to Barons Court
    • All day, no service westbound from Earl’s Court and Stamford Brook
    • All day, no service between Earl’s Court and Kensington (Olympia)
    • All day, no service between Fulham Broadway and Wimbledon
  • Westbound trains will not call at Barons Court until November. If travelling west, go one stop east to West Kensington and then change trains for westbound services.

Circle line

  • Sat Aug 22, no trains on the entire line until 10.30am.
    • No service between Edgware Road and Tower Hill from 10.30am to 2pm.

Hammersmith & City line

  • Sat Aug 22, no trains on the entire line until 10.30am.

Metropolitan line

  • Sat Aug 22, no trains between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate until 10.30am.

Piccadilly line

  • Sat Aug 22, no night tube trains on the entire line between 1.45am and 4.45am.
  • Sat Aug 22, no trains between Hyde Park Corner and Acton Town from 4.45am to 2pm.
  • Westbound trains won’t call at Barons Court until November. If travelling west, go one stop east to Earl’s Court and change trains for westbound services.
  • Eastbound trains will not call at Caledonian Road all weekend.

Elizabeth line

  • On Sun Aug 23, no trains between West Drayton and Maidenhead until 8am.

Mildmay line (Overground)

  • On Sun Aug 23, no trains between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction until 9.30am. No service between Camden Road and Stratford after 10.15pm

Windrush line (Overground)

  • On Sun Aug 23, no trains between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace / West Croydon all day. No services between Highbury & Islington and Dalston Junction after 10.15pm.
