Can you hear them in the distance, those faint jingling bells? The festive season is upon us and London’s Christmas attractions have returned with all the usual lights displays, festive shopping opportunities and skating rinks.
When it comes to just Christmas markets, in 2025 Londoners are truly spoiled for choice. This year’s Time Out list of the capital’s top festive fairs stretches beyond 30, giving you more than enough places to sip mulled wine, snack on gingerbread and get some present shopping inspo. Only the finest markets make the cut, with each one judged on its food, drink and gift shopping options (as well as overall Christmassy vibe).
But which market came out on top? Well, for 2025 it’s a classic, sprawling London attraction that has been named the city’s best Christmas market. That’s right, it’s Hyde Park’s festive extravaganza Winter Wonderland.
What dates is Hyde Park Winter Wonderland open?
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland returns this coming Friday, November 14 and will bang on (just) into the New Year, closing on January 1.
What are the opening times?
The attraction runs from 10am to 10pm every day, with entry prices varying based on the time of day.
Main attractions
Winter Wonderland boasts an absolutely massive ice rink (the largest in the UK, to be exact), which costs £11-£17 depending on the time of day.
For families visiting the attraction, children have the option to play in Santa Land, or Santa’s Grotto, one of the immersive sections the park decked out with presents. New for 2025 is Luminarie Lane, which has both a massive light installation and premium shopping options.
Adults can also sneak off to Bar Ice for a live DJ with drinks served in frozen ice glasses or watch Cirque Berserk, a circus show that performs multiple times each night. Entrance fees are £17-18 and £12.50-18 for each event.
How to get to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland?
The main tube stations nearby include Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge and Marble Arch. However, these hubs often get busy. If you’re up for a walk, Green Park, Bond Street and Paddington will likely be less crowded.
When it comes to entering the attraction site, there are four gates:
- Red Gate (near Marble Arch and Bond Street): best for Thrillville, Santa Land and other child-friendly activities
- Blue Gate (near Hyde Park Corner and Green Park): best for ice skaters
- Green Gate (near Knightsbridge and High Street Kensington): best for the market and food stalls
- Gold Gate (near Marble Arch): best for present shoppers
