London Tube and Train Disruption This Weekend: Bakerloo and Overground Closures [August 8-9 2026]

The Bakerloo line and several Overground lines will be hit by service alterations on the weekend, according to Transport for London’s planned disruption schedule. Here’s how to navigate the closures

Heads up, west (specifically northwest) Londoners: major travel disruption will impact train and tube services this weekend. Both the northwest end of the Bakerloo and the entire Lioness line are among TfL’s scheduled closures on August 8-9. Piccadilly line users will be glad to hear that the navy blue line’s closures are having a weekend off.

There’s plenty to get out and about in London for this weekend. The most unmissable things to do in the capital on August 8-9 include music events Maiden Voyage Festival and Labyrinth on the Thames, the city’s best BBQ and Dulwich Picture Gallery’s big summer exhibition.

London travel disruption and tube closures, August 8-9 2026

Bakerloo line

  • On both Saturday August 8 and Sunday August 9, no trains between Harrow & Wealdstone and Queen’s Park.
    • Use London Northeastern Railway services between Harrow & Wealdstone and Euston.

Lioness line (Overground)

  • On Sat Aug 8 and Sun Aug 9, no service on the entire line.

Suffragette line (Overground)

  • On Sun Aug 9, no trains until 9.45am, then a reduced service from 9.45am to 12.45pm (Barking to Barking Riverside Riverside will remain shut until 12.45pm).

Windrush line (Overground)

  • On Sun Aug 9, no trains between Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction.

Mildmay line (Overground)

  • On Sat Aug 8, a reduced service will run between Shepherd’s Bush and Clapham Junction.

District line

  • Westbound trains will not call at Barons Court until November. If travelling west, go one stop east to West Kensington and then change trains for westbound services.

Piccadilly line

  • As with the District line, westbound trains won’t call at Barons Court until November. If travelling west, go one stop east to Earls Court and change trains for westbound services.
