Can’t afford to shell out for those pricy Chelsea Flower Show tickets? Wake up and smell the roses – indie gardening party Chelsea Fringe offers a cheaper green fix that’s just as blooming beautiful as the big show. Running from until Sun May 26, the fringe’s unusual spin-off events and hands-on workshops are a great way to get your horticulture on. As London’s spring flowers start to pop and the parks and gardens around the city become even more colourful, join in everything from fungi workshops and glasshouse tours to tree planting and herbal ice-cream tasting.
