In an interview with NBC, American swimmer Ryan Lochte confirms reports that, after his current Olympic outing, he'll be be packing up and moving to Los Angeles. Here are 10 reasons we think he’ll fit in perfectly here.
1. He has no shame about reality shows. His What Would Ryan Lochte Do? ran on the E! network back in 2013 and he has said he would like to strut his stuff on Dancing with the Stars. We would totally like to watch.
2. That green hair will look perfectly on-trend for rocking out at Beach Goth or shopping on Melrose.
3. His (verified!) Tinder profile features both a shirtless pic and a car selfie. Swipe right.
4. When he and Michael Phelps go out for their bromantic pasta dinner date, we know some great places to recommend.
5. We can totally see him saying “jeah” to taking up surfing as hobby…
6. …though if he keeps up swimming, we’ve certainly got plenty of facilities for that, too.
7. Citing his blend of jock, dude, prep and stoner, NPR once named Ryan the essential expression of bro culture (which there may be a small bit of around these parts).
8. He’s already been working on his acting chops with some TV guest spots, including a turn on that most-accurate of shows about LA, 90210.
9. Now that he’s been exposed to the water in Rio, he’ll be fine to swim in the LA River.
10. Since he’s got the second-biggest medal collection among U.S. swimmers, it makes sense for him to bring it to the second-biggest city.
