Friday

Dive head first into your weekend during a Sunset Swim at the Annenberg Community Beach House. Though the evening open swim session and the beachfront pool are for adults only, it's anything but serious business with free fruit bars and s'mores.

Spend a music and art-filled evening outside the Natural History Museum during the kickoff of Summer Nights in the Garden. Stargaze, learn how to roast coffee and brush up on the art of macramé while sipping on cocktails made fresh from the museum's garden at this free bimonthly series.

Watch Robin Williams' manic monologues in a charity screening of Good Morning Vietnam at the Wiltern. Stand-up troupe GIs of Comedy will follow the screening of the 1987 film, and a portion of proceeds will benefit the Volunteers of American Veterans Service.

Saturday

Peruse wares from local and legendary vendors at the summer iteration of Renegade Craft Fair. The biannual fair arrives in Grand Park with goods from more than 275 makers—10 of which are featured in our goodies giveaway.

Celebrate the bloom of Echo Park Lake's beloved floating flowers with the annual Lotus Festival. Expect plenty of food, music, dragon boat races and, of course, the lotus flower beds in full bloom.

Take in an afternoon screening during the opening weekend of Outfest Los Angeles. The film fest features two full weeks of gay and lesbian films; today you can catch screenings at both the DGA Theater in Hollywood and Downtown's REDCAT.

If you're in the mood for another movie or three, get a triple dose of Doc Brown at a Back to the Future trilogy screening. You can catch all three irresistible '80s popcorn flicks back-to-back-to-back at the Egyptian Theatre.

Choose between a duo of free Westside concerts in the evening. Sound in Focus kicks off next to the Annenberg Space for Photography with a headlining set from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. The shows typically prove pretty popular, so if you're closed out take the tram up to the Getty instead for Saturdays Off the 405, with a performance from local singer-songwriter Kevin Morby.

Sunday

Experience the re-invented LA Food Fest on its final afternoon in Exposition Park. More than 100 of the city’s best restaurants and chefs will be setting up shop, along with a live culinary stage, star-studded dinners and an artisanal LA farm shop.

Discover designs from one of the defining architects of Palm Springs' cutting-edge, midcentury-living aesthetic at Fast Forward: The Architecture of William F. Cody. The A+D Museum exhibition kicks off with an early evening reception at its Arts District home.

Watch a movie atop the Ricardo Montalbán Theatre as Rooftop Film Club screens Pride. Proceeds from the screening of the 2014 film will benefit the LGBT Center in Orlando.

Close out your weekend with one of these three can't miss shows—though we suppose you'll have to miss two of them. Head over to the Forum for an evening of stand-up with Louis C.K. or catch Lyle Lovett and Emmylou Harris croon at the Greek Theatre. Meanwhile at the Hollywood Bowl, Brian Wilson performs Pet Sounds, the legendary Beach Boys album, after an opening set from the always excellent M. Ward.
