We curate an L.A. weekend itinerary of the city's best concerts, culture and cuisine, every week, just for you.

Friday

We the people, in order to form a more perfect start to our weekend, should attend Constitution Happy Hour, a series of crash courses on the U.S. Constitution at the Hammer Museum's AMMO Café with $5 beer and wine.

Explore the Petersen Automotive Museum after closing during its first Museum After Hours and Vault Tour. Take a guided tour (focused on Italian design and innovation) of the museum's impressive vault of cars and enjoy a DJ set and complimentary cocktails.

Fend off gigantic irradiated ants during a free screening of Them! at Union Station. Catch the '50s sci-fi classic on Union Station's north patio.

Alternatively, listen to live broadcasts of a half-dozen podcasts, including 99% Invisible and Criminal during Radiotopia Live at the Theatre at Ace Hotel.

Saturday

Looking for a fuzzy friend but aren't quite ready to commit? Foster a kitten during Best Friends Animal Society's Clear the Nursery Day fostering orientation session.

Kick off the launch of the Griffith Park Beer Garden with a flight of beers and some sausage. You'll find the Saturday-only pop-up just inside the edge of the park on the Roosevelt Cafe's patio.

Just up the street, settle in for a set from Conor Oberst at the Greek Theatre. The Bright Eyes frontman doesn't push any limits with his quavery-voiced indie folk, but his plainspoken-troubadour style sounds just right in this open-air gig.

Roll out a blanket and bring along the picnic gear for the first Cinespia screening of the season with a showing of Chinatown at Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Sunday

Just a heads up: It's Mother's Day, so make sure to call your mom and treat her to something nice.

Spend the afternoon shopping at two seasonal craft markets, starting with Echo Park Craft Fair at Mack Sennett Studios, where artsy Eastsiders are showing off all sorts of handmade and delicately concocted creations.

Make your way over to the California Market Center for the Unique LA Spring Market. Check out local products and rub elbows with the different designers and artists showcasing their work at this massive craft fair.

Eat your way around 50 booths from restaurants, bars and food trucks at Night Market, the centerpiece of the inaugural monthlong Food Bowl. Participating vendors at Grand Park include Chengdu Taste, Ricebar, Salt & Straw, the NoMad Truck and more.

Step back into an era of big shoulder pads and all-neon-everything during Strange '80s at the Fonda Theatre. The inaugural, star-studded benefit concert featuring Tenacious D, Weird Al, OK Go, Taking Back Sunday and more.
