We curate an L.A. weekend itinerary of the city's best concerts, culture and cuisine, every week, just for you.

Friday

Start your weekend at the opening night of L.A. Zoo Lights. For the third year, the Griffith Park tradition bathes the Los Angeles Zoo grounds in twinkly string lights and animal-themed displays; most of the real animals will be sleeping, though you can visit a herd of reindeer.

Catch a cabaret of raunchy rock songs from Bridget Everett at the El Rey Theatre. The lascivious and surprisingly sweet comedian's show is currently sold out, but you'll want to put in the extra effort to find tickets to this one.

If you come up short, keep the night going at NerdMelt for another installment of Andy Kindler's Particular Show. The frustrated, self-defeated comedian celebrates the two-year anniversary of his regular stand-up showcase with sets from T.J. Miller, Morgan Murphy, Beth Stelling and more.

Saturday

Debunk all of those cliches about nobody walking in L.A. during Saturday's Great Los Angeles Walk. Hundreds of walkers will start the free urban hike at Grand Hope Park and, a half-day and 15 miles along Pico Boulevard later, end up at the beach in Santa Monica.

If your preferred method of transportation is four wheels and not two feet, drift into the L.A. Convention Center for the opening weekend of the L.A. Auto Show. Get behind the wheel of futuristic prototype cars and be on the lookout for appearances from local sports legends.

Grab a ticket to the Airbnb Open's Downtown street festival, Open Spotlight. Maroon 5, LÉON and Best Coast headline a musical lineup that complements a pop-up market, an advanced screening of La La Land and a dance party at the Globe Theatre.

Don a fake mustache or groom your real one in time for the Stouts N Staches Fest. This Venice bar crawl fundraiser includes drink specials at more than a half-dozen spots and benefits the Movember Foundation.

Sunday

Channel your inner child at the annual Designer Con, where more than 350 vendors and artists will showcase toys, art, design and collectibles in the Pasadena Convention Center's exhibit hall, as well as across the street at music venue the Rose. Highlights include an art show of Japanese toys and a convention-wide '90s theme.

Step into Mariachi Plaza to be dazzled by Mariachi Festival. This free local musical tradition celebrates the neighborhood's musical heritage with a full day of performances from local and international mariachi acts.

Close out your weekend at El Cid for Sultry Sweet Burlesque & Variety Show. Tapas and topless are the first orders of business at this spirited dinner theater show, which tonight includes a magic show mixed in with the typical burlesque show.
