EZPZ is betting that great pizza and organic soft-serve are all you need. (TBH they might be right.)

Los Angeles doesn’t exactly have a shortage of pizza joints. But in a world of increasingly elaborate toppings, a new spot in El Segundo hopes to stand out via simplicity.

EZPZ, a neighborhood slice shop devoted to just two menu items—pizza and soft-serve—is now open at 321 Main Street in downtown El Segundo. The restaurant comes from movie producer Beau Flynn (Barbie, San Andreas) and actor Marley Shelton (Scream, Pleasantville), who teamed up with Scott Tremonti, founder of the popular mobile pizza operation the Urban Oven.

The concept is refreshingly straightforward: Rather than offering salads, sandwiches and appetizers, EZPZ focuses on New York–style slices made with California ingredients, followed by organic soft-serve for dessert.

The pizza starts with dough made from California-milled organic high-protein flour that’s fermented for 48 hours before baking, creating a crust that’s light, airy and crisp. Each pie is topped with pesticide-free California tomatoes, Wisconsin whole-milk mozzarella and shaved Parmigiano Reggiano.

The menu features classics like cheese and pepperoni alongside specialty pies including Fresh Mozz, White Out, Chef T’s Fennel Sausage and the Hottie. Diners can also customize pizzas with toppings like burrata, ricotta, hot honey, Calabrese peppers and vegan cheese. Gluten-free pies are available, too.

Once you’ve polished off your slice, it’s time for dessert. Organic soft-serve from Straus Family Creamery comes in vanilla, chocolate or swirl, with toppings ranging from Oreo crumbles and sprinkles to olive oil with Maldon sea salt and white balsamic vinegar.

“We are so excited to open EZPZ in El Segundo—it’s truly the perfect neighborhood,” Flynn said in a statement. “Kids coming after school, families waving as they walk by, firefighters stopping in, and local workers telling us they'll be making us their daily lunch spot.”

The shop’s design leans into its neighborhood ethos. Alongside marble tables and indoor-outdoor seating, the walls feature murals proclaiming “Trust the Crust” and “Pizza & Soft-Serve. That’s It.” There’s also a playful nod to local history with artwork inspired by A Tribe Called Quest’s classic track “I Left My Wallet in El Segundo,” plus a gallery celebrating South Bay surf culture, LAX, lowriders and Kobe Bryant.

The Flynns are no strangers to the restaurant business, having previously invested in concepts including Dave’s Hot Chicken, Irv’s Burgers, La Dolce Vita and Olivetta. But EZPZ is their first concept built from the ground up.
