Time Out says
Live and contemporary performing arts
Across three stages you'll find a home to vaudeville, cabaret, burlesque, carnival, illusion, comedy and live music. If that isn't enough, there's a wine bar, cocktails, tapas and sliders to complement the entertainment. And when the weather is kind, watch out for weekly rooftop venue, the Blind Tiger, presenting theatre shows and other live acts.

Totally amazing and unique venue! Amazing venue too! What an interesting old building :0 Would recommend for anyone who appreciates art, beauty, talent and raw, real, old school vaudeville theatre :)
I have never experienced anything like it! It combines variety in a fun way that isn't over the top theatrical, but takes you on a journey. Tickets from $20, and $35 to stay all night! Cheapest entertainment in town. Staff are amazing, bright and colourful. Loved every minute.
Fantastic venue in a historic building, really atmospheric smoky theatre/cocktail bar. TONS of music, comedy and burlesque acts- so much talent. Staff are all very friendly & helpful, almost all are costumed and or in character which makes for a unique experience you wouldnt get at most evenings out. I've recommended this place to heaps of friends visiting melboune, they all come back saying what a great night they've had. 😊 10/10 for Speakeasy HQ 💕💕
I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, the $35 entry fee for what could only be described as a badly (barely) themed, overly smoky venue, amateur vaudeville acts and average burlesque acts, overpriced ($48) bottles of wine with no ice bucket, $10 shot glasses with the promise of $5 refills that could only be refilled once before "RSA" revoked service to us, underqualified service staff who didn't even know what was in the shots they were serving (do you even have an RSA certificate?!), forgotten food orders for again overpriced $25 warm tapas platters (with 12 tiny pieces of deep fried items on them), jawbreakingly chewy pretzels served off a foam sword (ummm, heard of safe and hygienic food handling?!), didn't put me off quite as much as your awful management.
We were ushered in with a stern warning to "smile and laugh at the acts, and don't talk during the performances" like we were being issued instructions by an Army general, followed by the disgusting language used by your manager to eject a group of 6+ patrons who were, heaven forbid having a laugh at the acts and enjoying themselves for less than ten minutes, before you asked them to leave without a refund of their $35 per head entry fee and calling the cops because your circus freak carny "staff" (presumably unpaid) weren't appropriately trained or accredited as security officers who could have evicted them without delaying the show for 20 minutes, and then finally denying 2 members of our party further alcohol service because you claimed them were intoxicated. They had literally only had the shared bottle of wine and two shots that you had served them in the 2 hours we had been there!
Apologies to the performers who will suffer at the hands of this management who will ensure that your patronage drops off significantly and goes out of business. Hot tip: find yourselves a better place to perform, you'll be so much better off! :-)
